Lobo, born and raised in Chelsea, has participated in all different kinds of forms of art, including modeling and producing. He has recently released his first tape, called, Kanjo Nights. Kanjo Nights is one of the more impressive and creative projects I have heard this year. It will surely leave you thinking “woah, that was cool” after listening. One tip, listen to it on full volume, the bass hits very different, especially on my favorite tracks, Hinata and STAGE 1.

Johnny Dube: What was your childhood like in Chelsea?

Lobo: I was a fat kid always at the corner store

JD: What were/are some of your favorite spots in Chelsea?

Lobo: Honduran restaurants or the many Pizzerias in the area.

JD: How did your musical journey start?

Lobo: Working with Paris & Atlas Weeping

JD: What was the process like creating your first tape, Kanjo Nights, did you come across any challenges or difficulties?

Lobo: It was an experiment, I wanted to create a mix of songs that transitioned well into each other but also to keep each song short & simple. The idea of 1 long mix was inspired by Earl Sweatshirt’s “Solace.”

I was lucky enough to receive a batch of melodies played out by Wilbur Mercer, Ben Slayton, & T-Wayne. (3 Amazing producers)

I choose the best melodies from each batch, produced each song with the help of P-FLIP, & asked artists who I felt were good enough to compliment my tape for a feature: Atlas weeping, Astro Zay, Bro God, Hugo Savant, & Franco

S/O to Tea he mixed most of the tape

S/O to Owen he mixed “Stage 3”

JD: What was the inspiration behind Kanjo Nights?

Lobo: The Kanjo Nights theme was inspired by my 95 Civic Si & Kanjo Racing from Osaka Underground Street Car Scene In Japan. I figured why not make a tape for the Kanjo Racing Scene.

-Curator for Bro God’s FOF tape coming soon

-Collab Tape with State (Devin Toro)

-Prod for Locals & HDMG

-Focus on Modeling
